I'm Back...

wow, what a great holiday weekend i had. i went down to choctaw country which is southeast oklahoma and spent some time with my step mothers small family. they are all really great people and so so nice. we arrived thursday afternoon, setting up the new trailer at the choctaw casino camp grounds. dad just loves that new trailer!!! later that afternoon, we arrived at at my step mothers sisters house and had are fill of delicious thanksgiving food. the sweet potatoes, and chocolate cake was the best!!! that night we all went, minus dad, to sherman texas and caught a movie. i watched the new wes anderson movie, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and it was delightful!!! this might be my next favorite wes anderson film besides Rushmoore!!!

oh boy, on friday we got up early and had breakfast and then went to dallas to shop at the malls. we first stopped at this burger place called fuddruckers i think, and i had the buffalo burger which is now the best darn burger i have ever had in my entire life!!! holy crap, it was soooooooo gooooooooddddddd!!! after that awesome lunch we arrived at this mall called something i can't remember, and shopped for a few hours. i got a new pair of pants and the God of War Collection for my ps3. i totally ranked in that day!!! later that night me and my dad went to jack in the box and had a few of those 99cent tacos. they were great and worth it because the only time we get to have those is when we go out of town!!! we ended the night by getting a couple of blizzards from dairy queen and watching JFK on the tv in the trailer.

okay, so saturday was a long one. we got up and made breakfast again and then this time me and dad went to a smaller part of the lake area here in oklahoma called texoma which is right there in the choctaw area. dad has an old buddy from his city job days who lives there near the lake. we went and hung at his house watching the OU football game, then we went to the lake and fished for several hours. we caught about seven fish, which is actually not the regular there. most of the time we catch over 20 fish, but it was a cold and windy day, and the little buggers just weren't biting. lol

fish like my scruff and army shirts...

so after that the day became night and the annual choctaw powwow started at the events center. we hung out there all night, watching the dancers and seeing old friends. it made me a little jealous that my fancy dance outfit wasn't ready yet, but in time it will be. (new years eve this year!!!) my step mom got 2nd place in her category and dad lost 40 bucks at the casino, so in all it was a great night. i fell asleep watching Goodfellas in the trailer. ha ha

so today is sunday and we left the south and came home. as i quickly type this dad and perrin are dropping off the trailer and i'm about to finish here. soooooooo, i guess i will now do a small music post. i want to hype this band solely based off the name and lyrical content of just one song by them. the song is called, "let's get out of this country" and the band is called Camera Obscura.

this is an indie pop band that formed in glasgow scotland back in 1996. they have now released four albums have toured the world over. lead singer tracyanne campbell has a great soft voice that is unique all its own and makes the music flow even better. the song i mentioned has lyrics which make me want to get up off my butt and head out the door. i jammed this song today as i was coming back home from the trip, slightly wishing i could re-live the days i just had. i really haven't had this amount of greatness in a long time. i know that with greatness can come something to knock it down because it's a reminder that not all things can be great. i know that of course, so i have myself prepared for when that sort of thing happens. i'm just thankful for the time i got to have that was great. it's so precious to me now. so anyway, here is the album with the same name as the song, Let's Get Out of This Country. enjoy, and please try to get out of your homes once in a while!!!

Let’s get out of this country

I’ll admit I am bored with me
I drowned my sorrows and slept around
When not in body at least in mind
We’ll find a cathedral city
You can convince me I am pretty

We’ll pick berries and recline
Let’s hit the road dear friend of mine
Wave goodbye to our thankless jobs
We’ll drive for miles maybe never turn off
We’ll find a cathedral city you can be handsome I’ll be pretty

What does this city have to offer me?
Everyone else thinks it’s the bee’s knees
What does this city have to offer me?
I just can’t see
I just can’t see

Let’s get out of this country
I have been so unhappy
Smell the Jasmine my head was turned
I feel like getting confessional
We’ll find a cathedral city you can convince me I am pretty

What does this city have to offer me?
Everyone else thinks it’s the bee’s knees
What does this city have to offer me?
I just can’t see
I just can’t see
