sorry i've missed the last couple of days for bloggin'. it's been a busy time at the moment. despite that, i still want to write on here as much as possible. last night i went to a hardcore punk show and saw Ceremony and Punch tear up oklahoma city. it was a blast and i think i sweated off at least five pounds or more!!! i haven't been to a good hardcore show like that in years, so it was worth the wait. in other music news, i recently purchased my ticket for the New Found Glory show at the conservatory on september 11th. this will be EPIC!!! (i'm geekin' out right now...)
for the music i'm posting some serious nerd stuff. well, it's not really nerdy, but some might think so. anyway, the music is from a band called, The Pillows.
the pillows are a pop/rock/punk band from hokkaidō, japan that have been together since 1989. in total, they have released 16 records and several ep's. they gained an american audience when their music was used for the anime, Fooly Cooly, or FlCl, or Furi Kuri. this is where the nerdom comes in. if it wasn't for this, i never would have heard of these guys. what hit me when i first watched this particular show was the music. sure, the animation is simple, yet gorgeous, and yes, the plot is all over the place and spastic, but awesome like that. and yeah, it's done by gainax who were responsible for making the timeless, Neon Genesis Evangelion. but still, it was the music that struck me. i haven't witnessed an awesome soundtrack to just about anything since Cowboy Bebop. i had to quickly dig around and find this source, which ultimately led me to the pillows.
for today the three soundtracks to fooly cooly are here. they feature mainly music by the pillows, but also instrumental tracks by other artists as well as spoken dialogue from the anime itself. the first volume is called, Addict and the second is called, King of Pirates. the third is simply called volume three. try these out and enjoy something a bit different!!! dig it...
it's so hot here...
