Indian Hillzzz...

the weekend is almost here and with that comes my favorite powwow of the summer, indian hills. this is the ultimate outdoor event for me and this year is a special one because it will be the first time i've dance there. yep, since my outfit is pretty much done, i finally get to dance at my favorite summer powwow ever!!! i'm so nervous, yet totally excited!!! i'm going to bed way early tonight in order to wake up around 5:30 am and get to work by 7. if i do that then i can be off by 4pm and thus, have time to get home and shower up and then head over to the dance. it's gonna be zoppity!!!

since i'm about to be in slumber, let's listen to some lo-fi dreamy stuff courtesy of Swirlies.



swirlies are a shoegaze/lo-fi/indie/rock band from boston, massachusetts that have been around since 1990. often compared to bands like, My Bloody Valentine, Pavement, Sonic Youth, Slowdive, Ride and Galaxy 500, swirlies carved their own trail and garnered a deep fan base in the independent music scenes around the world. though the original lineup isn't really together at this time, the current incarnation still rocks and often leave the audience in a daze. give this a shot if you are open minded, which i hope you all are!!!

oh, and for the music here's my favorite album by swirlies called, Blonder Tongue Audio Baton. this is probably their most recognized work as it's their personal best. if you love loud, distorted shoegaze that erupts with screeching highs and soft, quiet epic lows then you are in for a real treat!!! dig it...
