over the past couple of years i've developed this habit of taking off my glasses when i'm sometimes having a conversation. i do this because my eyes are usually tired and irritated, but also because i can't see worth a flip. this mostly so i don't have to "really" look at people straight in the eyes. what the strategy warrants is a certain degree of fakeness on my part. i have a curse of terrible shyness, so i do this in order to not really see what these people look like. this little trick of mine actually helps in these situations, but like i said, i'm faking my determination to look straight at you. it's an uncomfortable thing for me to do, so that's why i'm always looking down and "shoegazing"...
and speaking of shoegazing, here's a wonderful band called Pia Fraus.
pia fraus are from tallinn, estonia, which is located next to the gulf of finland. the band started back in 1998 when six art students came together and shared their love of music with one another. they quickly started playing local shows and then eventually record their debut album. from their humble start to present day, the band has recorded five full length albums, and several ep's. they play a lo-fi distorted style of shoegaze and any fans of Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Ulrich Schnauss and even Animal Collective should greatly like this.
today you will find their entire full length discography, minus the singles and ep's. we jump in headfirst with their debut album called, Wonder What It's Like. this is then followed by the gentle, yet orgasmic, In Solarium, which is an ace of an album. next we have Sailing on a Grapefruit Lake, which happens to be an ep compilation!! after that is my personal favorite album titled, Nature Heart Software, and then finally, their latest album called, After Summer. take it easy this sunday and relax those eyes with some good fuzzy music. dig it...
must take off glasses now...
