so sorry to have not made a post in a while again. i guess it's because of Call of Duty: Black Ops. yeah, i've been going crazy with that game, so there!!! nyah nyah!!!
here's something a bit quick and it comes at us very fast courtesy of, Slayer!!!
yeah yeah yeah, this isn't really that nice of music to post here, but heck, i just love their thrashyness. you all should listen to SSSSSLLLLLLAAAAAYYYYYYEEEEEERRRRRR and thrash along. this is, in my opinion, the best of the best when it comes to thrash metal. they are way better than, Megadeth and Metallica combined. yeah, i said it...
ok, so there is one thing to listen to and that is their best album, Reign in Blood. no question...
today is the day that halloween goes in full force. funny thing though, because last night felt like halloween. all the kids were out trick-or-treatin' and i guess that's because halloween fell on a sunday this year and you know how hard it is for little kids to get up and go to school. despite this, tonight will still be a fun night and i'm very excited because the premier of, The Walking Dead starts around nine or so. it's a new television series on amc that's being directed by the guy who made, The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. just because of that, i believe it will be in good hands.
oh, and before i forget, i just want to go back to this past friday and mention a little bit of it. work was work, but that day was a lot of fun. all the departments got to carve pumpkins and i was picked to do ours. i had a hard time deciding on what to do, but then it hit me. i will make a cartman pumpkin!!!
ha ha i think he looks awesome!!!
so anyway, work ended and i blazed home to change and then head to my moms to pick up my little brother. it was my idea to take him to our church fall festival. he was tired and a bit grumpy, but nonetheless had a good time. it was also fun to see all my friends and family there. i even got to take a picture with my good buddy lexi, who dylan was trying to protect me from. (she was a vampire and you know how them vampires get...) i was also glad to see my best friend mike and his family. good ol' mike!!!
darth vader is posin' and somehow not burning his hand on his lightsaber...
and so the night ended with me going to norman to pick up my Withnail and I... bluray and then hitting the taco bueno to get some munchies. i got to bed at a decent time for once and slept in saturday until around eleven. saturday night was most excellent, what with me giving out tons of candy to neighborhood kids and some weirdo's and then watching OU beat the crap outta colorado. oh, and the food was awesome!!! my mom made chili and grasshoppers and cornbread. (grasshoppers are jalapeno peppers with cream cheese and bacon wrapped around it with barbecue sauce. mmm mmm good!!!) and as for today, well i stayed up too late and missed church, but i guess that's okay. it's not the end of the world. i'll make up for it somehow. until then, i hope everyone of you out there have fun and be safe tonight. there are a lot of crazies out there who want to be extra creepy, so be on the lookout!!!
oh heck, i almost forgot about the music. well, let's not get to moody here and instead relax with some awesome post-rock. this comes courtesy of the band, Tortoise.
tortoise is a wonderful post-rock band that started back in 1990 and are considered one of the best around. they hail from chicago, illinois and have made several groundbreaking albums in the genres of indie/electronic/ambient and of course, post-rock. the band has several members, some of which have been in other influential acts like, The Sea and Cake, Slint and that crazy dude known as, Beck.
today there are two albums i want you to check out. first is the second full length album by the band called, Millions Now Living Will Never Die. and after that we have my personal favorite which is their third full length simply titled, TNT. try these out and enjoy the landscapes. dig it...
oooooooooo!!! last night i went and watched Paranormal Activity 2 and had a blast. it's not the most perfect movie, but you can't beat a fun movie watching experience. i went with several members of my family and we all got spooked bad. the film has a lot of those jump moments that try and catch you off guard, and for the most part, they work to great effect. i'll never forget how funny it was to hear the audience scream out loud while something happened on the screen. something like a fart under the blankets or a cell phone vibrating...
since it was soooooooooooo scary, i think i'll let you all watch some of Simon's Cat, because he's soooooooooo CUTE!!!
and in other news, today is another OU football game, so i guess i'll be watching that later on with the family. i think that's going to be fun!!! and so, let's get a bit scary again with some DEATHCORE!!! DEATHCORE!!! DDDDDDEEEEAAAAATTTTTHHHHHCCCCCCOOOOORRRRRREEEEEE!!!... seriously, that is the lamest thing ever, but the music is so BROOOOOTAL that it requires all caps people!!! okay, and so with the band then??? yeah, let's talk about the band, who happen be be called, The Red Chord.
the red chord is a band from revere, massachusetts that formed in 1999. they are considered one of the pioneers in the deathcore genre. of course, i honestly thought they were just a metalcore band with heavier growls, but then i noticed the grindcore dynamics, and now it seems to have taken shape and become it's own separate genre called, deathcore. shoot man, it's all just metal to me, but there are those purists out there that beg to differ, so i'm trying my best to list all references in honor of those tight pants wearing scenesters. funny how much i used to like this band back in the early 2000's. i got the chance to see them several times, and each show was bigger and heavier than the last. in my opinion, nothing really tops their debut album simply because it was radically different than most of the metalcore material that came out during that time. but as the years have passed and crab core has raped its way into the young minds of our nations youth, the metal genre's have taken more expansive routes, and thus, have begone to slide around and mix things up a lot more. it's a mish mash of all styles and you really have to dig through the garbage to find something good. the red chord are one of the best and are still around, tearing up the clubs and making the kids mosh. i just wish more people would mention them instead of all the others... and by others, i mean, Suicide Silence, Winds of Plague, Whitechapel, Emmure, Salt the Wound and Bring Me the Horizon. (not that those bands are terrible and such...)
time to rest, but before i go here's the music. first is their debut album called, Fused Together in Revolving Doors. after this is the excellent album, Clients and then, Prey For Eyes. and last is Fed Through the Teeth Machine. check these out and get scary and BROOTAL!!! or just get cutsey!!! aww...

if you have a ghost in your house, listen to a minority...
sorry i've been away from the blog here. just out havin' some fun i guess. well, fun as in movies. Hot Tub Time Machine, is stupid fun that made me laugh way too much. i suggest you go see it. seriously, this movie is awesome. well, now that that's out of the way, i guess all that's left to do is post some music. oh, wait. i forgot to mention that i'm going paintballin' tomorrow!!! it's gonna rule!!!
here's some classic punk. please be scared when jammin' some of The Misfits!!!
what's there to say about this highly influential hardcore punk band??? not much, but i guess i'll say something. so, the band started in 1977, forming in lodi, new jersey by founding members, glenn danzing and jerry only. these two would be the longest remaining members throughout the early years of the band, which unfortunately ended in 1983. really, just do yourself a favor and forget the current version of the band. there is nothing good about them, and it's one of the ugly cash grab things that's tarnishing the legacy that this band originally started with.
when the band officially broke up, glenn danzig went on to form the awesome and short lived band, Samhain, then after that he went solo, going under his own last name. he had a minor hit with the song, "mother". jerry only battled with danzig over the rights to the misfits name and merchandise. i guess he had that george lucas future vision of massive amounts of money, because you can't walk into a hot topic without seeing the iconic misfits skull on some crumby shirt selling at 25 bucks each. regardless, the music is classic punk rock with great amounts of hardcore, rockabilly, metal and awesome pop. look no further than the old school misfits for the best of the best.
okay, so now we come to the albums. there are only three here, so just leave out everything that came after these. the only good misfits is the danzig misfits. (geez, i sure do complain a lot huh???) anyway the first album is the classic, Walk Among Us. this is their best and it contains awesome songs such as, "skulls" "90 eyes" and "mommy, can't i go out and kill tonight?" next we have the album, Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood. this was the second album and it also contains the wolfs blood ep. and last we have the album, Legacy of Brutality. this is a special album in that it contains some hard to find tracks as well as cuts from the bands first album attempt. that album was called, Static Age, and was released in 1997. that's it!!! this here is all that's the best for anyone interested in the misfits. (in my opinion of course!!!) so, try these out and enjoy yourself!!!
omg, i'm done with the moccasins!!! like, totally done!!!
now all i have left to do is some bead work on my cape and apron and my fancy dance outfit is complete!!!
this is the final sprint to the finish line for me. my new goal is to have it all done for the OU powwow in late april.
don't ask me why these were so hard to complete. i can't even begin to tell you the story behind them or my outfit in general. way too many memories, both good and bad, to mention. anyway, once it's all finished, i can take a good look back on everything and try to see what it was all about. there are a lot of challenges that took place for me, and hopefully now that i'm a bit older and (maybe) wiser, i can figure out my life from those times.
with all that now done it's time for the music. okay, now as i write this i'm actually in a good mood, so the depression thing isn't really happening at the moment. but don't let that confuse you when you see who i'm posting on today. it's just their turn!!! for all you darklings out there, here is, Bauhaus.
this is one of those bands that always get's mentioned in gothic discussion and name dropped to sound hip and cool. and just to let you all know, it is really cool to mention these guys because they freekin' rule!!! no joke hombre'!!! whatever genre you label them as, (post-punk/goth/nu-wave) bauhaus has garnered themselves the status of, cult legends. they are bigger now than they were during their heyday, which was 1979-1983, then 1998, and then finally 2005-2008. i had the great fortune of seeing them at a Nine Inch Nails, concert back in 2006. (blasphemy i know, but it's okay, don't get all uppity about it.) they were the main reason i wanted to go to that concert, and it was totally worth it.
during the bands many years, they have released several lp's, and ep's as well as singles and live albums. today, you will only find two albums here. these are the only albums i own by the band, and really, this is all i need. i'm posting these here because, i believe this is the best places to start with the band. Bauhaus 1979-1983, is the two album collection of just about everything you need to get your bauhaus on with the quickness. these albums contain all their hits and fan favorites. songs like, "kick in the eye" "she's in parties" the David Bowie cover "ziggy stardust" and the epic, "bela lugosi's dead" are all to be found here. try them out and see if you like it. also, mascara runs when crying and gothic poetry is sometimes self absorbed... pppppfffffttttt
both albums are contained in one megaupload package!!! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SDP6LUWU
bleed black, or red, or blue, or even polka dot!!!
today is halloween. that eventful holiday were candy flows like water, cats get killed gruesomely, and costumes try to be unique but often fail because it's all been done before. unless of course a new movie character came out and took the world by storm. (bruno maybe???)
yes, i am taking part in this holiday tradition by staying home and watching horror flicks. good horror flicks!!! oh, and yes, i will be giving out candy to the children who brave the front door to my house of horrors!!! (no food, bad toilets, rats in the backyard!!!)
so stop on by and chill out to some bloody classics and eat some possible pizza or tacos... oh, and be sure to dress up and ask nicely for candy because if you don't i will have to hoard all the candy like a squirrel and my tree nest can only hold so much!!!
heh heh, oh yeah about last night, well i went to the fall festival at my church and had a blast!!! i originally was going to be a gangster ala kanye west/50 cent, but instead chose to go even cheaper and try to attempt a zombie look. zombie movies are my favorite types of horror films, so i thought i could make it work. instead i got this:
my artsy angle to look dark and scary...
so yeah, i more or less came out looking like a black metal singer. just without the long hair. ha ha, i even thought i could have passed for some sort of samurai warrior whenever i applied the black grease paint to my eyes. oh how i tried to look old and decaying. my inspiration came from the original Dawn of the Dead (1978), because all the zombies had a blueish tone about them and nothing else really. i mixed some white paint with the black to make this grey color, but in these cell phone pics i look more blue... lol
i don't really know why i was wearing an army shirt...
okay, so after i went all out and made myself look like two bucks, i left my grandma's house and started off down the road to get to the church. well after reaching the stop light at the end of the street i glanced at my mirror and smiled all huge and cheesy and totally freeked myself out!!! i then did a u-turn and went back to my grandma's and wiped off all the paint and only left the black around the eyes. yeah, i guess you could say i chickened out, but i honestly didn't want to scare all the little children who came. and let me tell ya, there were a ton of kids there!!! my best friend mike came and brought his family with him. we all had a blast eating and chatting with everyone. funny, but most of the people there didn't recognize me. i guess i looked like a homeless person off the street... ha ha
overall it was a great night. everybody at the church seemed to be having a great time and the children loved it. after we left i was invited to come back to mike's to hang out and chill. i stayed over until almost 2:00 am. i drove back home late that night hoping i wouldn't get stopped by the police. i just know that i wouldn't look right once they saw me with all the goofy paint and such. so yeah, i eventually made it home and i wiped off all the corpse (pow wow) paint and then ended my night with some Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. massive kill streaks and massive pawnage!!!
sooooooooooooooo, on to the music!!! since it's halloween i think i will post some scary gory music this time!!! BBBBWWWWAAAAAHA HA HA HA HA... okay, so here is the famous death metal band Cannibal Corpse.
forming in 1988 in buffalo new york, this band has become the highest selling death metal band of all time. the first time i saw them was in the movie Ace Ventura. jim carrey got up on stage and took over the vocals, throwing himself around and going crazy like a rabbit being killed by a bear tap. with death metal bands came the infamous "cookie monster" vocals. its the sound of blood and guts being chewed upon or even better, thrown up from one's own mouth!!!
i finally got to see them live this past summer here in oklahoma at the last stop of the rockstar mayhem tour. they headlined the side stage and freekin' tore the place up. i stood there cracking up at how brutal they were. now i know where brendan small got his inspiration for his show Metalocalypse. george "corpse grinder" fisher is the absolute definition of a death metal singer. yes, he is way better than the original singer chris barnes ever was and yes he can really twirl his head like a windmill at seriously fast speeds.
so with that i give you my two personal favorite albums by the band. one note to make, these are the albums made with the original singer chris barnes. if you dig that guy you might want to check out his other band called Six Feet Under. but if you are like me, just skip that and only listen to these. first you have the crazy Tomb of the Mutilated and second is the awesomely gastric bypassing brutal as bamboo shoots under your finger nails The Bleeding. so don't take too much offense by the gory album artwork and instead check out some classic death metal and laugh at the absurdness of it all!!!
how do you dream??? what do you see??? do you pay any attention to what the dreams are??? do you think there is a point to what you saw??? i have dreams, sometimes... they are not easy to tell or decipher. i don't try to do that anyway. there is something i like about having an amazing dream and then forgetting it later. usually the bad one's are the one's that stay. when i dream, i'm living in the moment of whatever trip i'm currently taking. my dreams are personal. i do know that my past has been popping in more often now. i see people from my past that i have long forgotten. i often wonder what it all means, then i forget. quick trips down memory lane and then the off ramp to another mystery that leads to some place else...
if you had a soundtrack to your dreams, i don't think you would want it to be with this music. but, then again it might be freekin' awesome. just don't be scared and get lost in the abyss of endless thought and space. here is the band Godspeed You Black Emperor!.
picture yourself walkin' down a dirt road. you can't see the color of the normal world. everything is black and white. maybe sometimes grey, but mostly black and white. there are no people. if any, they are soulless bodies scattered about the place. you keep walking and see various structures left by humans like buildings, cars and roads. the sky is cloud covered and foggy. the winds blow, but the air is warm. ash falls from the sky. the smell of decay and rot fills your nostrils. you rub your eyes, but can't seem to get the itch out. you are alone. there is nothing and no one left. this is the present day. you are the last person alive. you contemplate life and death as you keep walking down the dirt road, searching for something that can take you back. memories of times long gone flood your mind. you remember talks and songs. you try to remember something that made you feel good, but it is of no luck. you are blank. you keep walking and all the world is with you, but not with you. this is the end. this is the apocalypse. this is your life. you wonder what happened. you try to put out of your mind all the things you wish you could have done. you try to forget the bad things that have happened to you. the people you have met, and the good times you have had are over. this is your time. this is the end...
remember that scene from 28 days later when the man is walking through london and there is no one left??? well the music from that particular scene was done by this band. the song was cut short from it's long length. the song is roughly called "east hastings". when listening to this post-rock supergroup of talented musicians for the first time in my life, i pictured the above statement in my head. the amazing sense of dread and fear made me shiver in my seat. there are many sounds to find on their songs, sometimes hidden and then upright in your face. i listened to everything this band has created all in one sitting while trying to finish my finals at my college library one semester. i believe i got an a+ on a few of my papers.
this is music that rummages up all sorts of emotions. you can picture almost anything when listening to it. i sometimes liked to listen and drive at the same time during the long trips to and from school during holidays. the bleakness and vastness of the landscapes i passed mixed with this music was astounding and very VERY real. your mind can think of all sorts of things when alone. i mostly pictured myself walking. i sort of became a person loosely based on all the characters you might have seen from post-apocalyptic movies. it was cool.
here are all the available albums that this band has released to the public. minus the extremely hard to find cassette, a few singles, various unreleased songs and live bootlegs, you have here the amazing album and personal fave F#A# (infinity), and then the ep titled Slow Riot for New Zerø Kanada, and then the double album Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven and last is Yanqui U.X.O..
hmm, my step mom got an email containing an audio recording from here in oklahoma. the area is Hobart. what you hear is something i can't say. i don't really have a clue as to what it is. i might be shooting in the dark by saying it's Bigfoot, but who knows. it's probably a Honka for sure. things can be pretty scary here...
